I Want To Buy a for sale by owner Home !?

I am interested in a For Sale By Owner, when I ask for a physical inspection on the property the seller refused. The seller said that he is selling the home “as is”. I still want a physical inspection done by a license home inspector.

If you are purchasing the home, you have every right to a home inspection, and it is the wisest thing you can do. However, the seller is not obligated to pay for it – you will be the one to foot the bill. And, if the seller is firm about selling the home “as is” don’t expect to get any discounts on price for even major issues. But, you will at least know exactly what you are walking in to, and how much financially to plan for repairs.
One other thing is that although the home is for Sale by Owner and I assume they do not have any realtor, you may wish to get one, or an attorney to make sure that your interests are protected legally and that all of the paperwork is completed properly. It may cost a bit, but in the long run be VERY worth it!
