What rights do i have to dispute a non return of my entire security deposit in a commercial space?

My landlord handed me a paper with his inflated estimates on replacing certain items in my space. I do not dispute that I owe for certain repairs but after checking at the local hardware store I am certain he is ripping me off. Do I have the right to see receipts and can he upgrade the things that need replacing?

What he can charge for the repairs will be determined by the language in your lease. It could be called many different things, but look for any language that says something to the effect that you will have to cover the landlord’s reasonable administrative expenses to do work on your behalf.

Yes, you should absolutely insist that he provide you with an accounting with back-up of every penny he spent to correct the issues (invoices from contractors, or materials receipts and timesheets for work done in-house).
